California bound, coast to coast…
“If you’re going to San Francisco…Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair…” This was my track for the fall; yet, I forgot to wear the flowers in my head. But I did go all American style and got myself a snapback! (Wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this in London). I think the most troublesome part about traveling is wondering what to wear when you’re at the airport or doing that long haul of a road-trip. I did both in one shot a couple of weeks ago, landed in L.A and then drove to other cities in California. So my attire had to be comfortable and yet not look like I have just thrown PJ’s on.
I chose my current favourite lightly ripped faded denims, an off-shoulder striped top, my green tinted Ray Bans and a blue Boston snapback. (Pictured above) This was perfect for the journey and I threw on a leather jacket when my flight got real cold. Don’t ever travel without a jacket/jumper, they are the lifesavers to face any sort of weather and shades are also a must-have!
After a week or two in California, you tend to adapt more to their ways (Like totally! ;)) And for the travel back to the East Coast, I went with a pink tank top, a hoodie and my new LA snapback (which I’m in love with!), dark slim fit jeans and shades. I think the jeans can be swapped for jogger pants if you wish to but I am battling an injury and had to keep my legs warm on the flight. The tank top was much needed though cause with the heat, there was no way anyone could manage anything with any sort of sleeves.
New York is another ball game altogether, after looking at everyone walking the streets, you definitely need to up your style quotient. I decided to go all black with the outfit. Black tank top, black jeans, golden tinted Ray Bans (Yes, I love aviators) and a hoodie. This was the only city I chose to wear dark lipstick for (Psst… there’s going to be whole post about it) and I was all set for the travel back to Boston.
The thing about traveling is that we all hate looking like hobos after the long trips and sunglasses are the saviour. A touch of lipstick helps amp any look too and go light on any of the other make-up (your skin will thank you!)
Safe travels and rock that pullover! xx
