December is here… time to wrap yourself up

I can’t believe it’s December already! It feels like 2016 just flew right by. Anyway, we all need to gear up for the holiday season and dress our best this month. Here are some of the best fashion takeaways to end the year on a high note.

1. Oxblood This colour has made a raging comeback! Whether it is jumpers, bags, dresses or even nail and lip colours. You must pick up an element with oxblood in it and make it your own. I picked up a jumper from Topshop in London (featured below) which is oxblood and a Michael Kors wallet. These simple yet eye-catching pieces can change your winter look and have fashion people going gaga.

2. Velvet Plush, royal and warm; those are the things that come to mind when I think of velvet. No wonder it’s a fitting fabric to be seen sporting in winter. Velvet is all over the place on the runway and many celebs have been sporting this style including Rihanna, Kim K, Gwyneth Paltrow and Casey. Velvet bags are also one easy way to stay classy and understated if you feel going all velvet in your outfit is too loud and unbecoming. (Though I must warn you after watching ‘The Crown’ I’m all for royal velvet dressing!) Velvet shoes are also in and you can grab them in red or black to dance the holidays away.

3. Bodysuits If you’re among the fuss-free, minimalist category and are honestly running around doing your last minute Christmas shopping then this trend is for you! I own a ton of bodysuits and they are my fashion saviour when I need to look put together, dressed up and have to be super comfortable for the long day ahead. Psst, you can even wear them to work if you add a good blazer to go with it. Here are three of my favourite styles from Maison Margiela, Topshop and River Island. Easy on the budget and easy on the eyes!

4. Faux Fur Coats How can I do my first winter post without faux fur featuring in it?! Faux fur is the best to turn your outfit from plain Jane to rockstar in no time! I think even if you wear jeans and your oldest t-shirt from your closet and throw on a Faux Fur coat, you’re set to hit the fanciest place in town. These are some of the best Faux fur coats that money can buy from H&M, Zara and Uniqlo. Throw one on and you can rule the world!
