Wedding bells and couture!

Wedding bells and couture!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I know I haven’t posted in quite awhile and it’s cause Christmas and Wedding season had befallen me and I had no time to breathe. So I decided to start the New Year on a wedding high with all the wedding season madness that is still continuing everywhere.

I think we’ve reached a time in our lives where attending weddings has become so commonplace that it’s something we do almost once a month! (At least that’s the story of my life) Then the biggest dilemma we face is what to wear at weddings?!

Here are a few looks you could use if you’re attending weddings and have no idea what to wear.

When attending a church or a day wedding which is western formal. You could opt for formal gowns. I chose a peach one in lace which is a look I tried for the first time. It was easier to prance about in heels than I expected and I got a ton of compliments for it. Evening gowns should be usually in darker tones of blue or green or red. This was specially designed keeping in mind that the wedding I attended was in the day and it was for a church service.

My favourite part of this look was the lace paneling which was very evident at the midriff and also the entire back was just lace. Though the gown was a bit flouncy at the bottom, it still had a great silhouette. The neck was high which lent it a royal air and called for no accessorizing. And the full sleeves again made up for me just wearing studs. I kept my make-up very pale and minimalistic with just Posie K from Kylie Jenner on my lips and did my eyes in a dull gold from MAC.

The next look I wore for the Wedding Reception was my favourite. I designed the blouse myself and was ecstatic at how it turned out! It’s a completely gold blouse with lace covering on the bodice and sleeves. The sleeves are just 3/4th and are off-shouldered with just lace and no lining. It has a fine flower and leaf combination print on it which is subtle cause the Lehenga is very grand.

Initially, everyone said that picking an all gold ensemble was not going to be a great idea as it would be too dull. But once they saw the piece, they changed their minds. All that glitters is gold! My makeup didn’t change much with this attire either, except I chose a red lip colour to stand out. And though I could’ve accessorized with a chain, I chose to wear big hoop antique indian earrings and a arm chain on one hand. Also, to make sure I was literally all gold, I carried a gold bag from Coach which was convenient to stash my essentials in.

Weddings are meant to be fun and it’s good to plan your outfits according to the location and time of the day. You might be wearing this for a couple of hours and you should definitely make sure that you can dance and mingle with people for hours in it.

Here’s to a bright New Year and new beginnings! Love and good wishes always xx
