Summertime: Lace it up!
I’ve usually been to San Francisco only in the fall and this was my first time being there in the Spring. Besides pollen allergies trying to bring me down, I managed to actually do a bit of touristing this time around.
As the weather was pretty warm and the sun was shining all day, I chose to wear white (if you’ve read my previous posts, you’d know its one of my favourites). I paired a white lace strapped tank from Promod and shorts from Forever New. But my outfit didn’t look complete and I decided to throw on a lace cover up that I designed. And my go-to Stans.
The entire cover up is made of lace with floral cutouts. It is perfect for the summer as it’s super comfy and light and adds that much more grace to just about any outfit! I throw it on when I’m going out for a movie with friends, when I’m shopping or even for music festivals which I’ve posted about.
Personally, I think it’s best with shorts as then the length of the cover up adds to your frame. But it goes great with skinny jeans or leggings too! We had a hectic day from walking Crooked street to the bay to Ghirardelli square and I felt like I had an extra layer to ward off tanning haha.
A lot of people are hesitant to wear cover ups cause they feel it overshadows their outfit and my advice would be to not be afraid of wearing just basics with it. Since the white lace has floral cutouts, you could pull off any pastel basics with it and even match dark shirts with floral prints with it and get away with it!
As for footwear, since I was walking all over the country I went with my Stan Smith sneakers which are all white. You could wear any sneakers with it or even dainty slippers, quirky flip-flops or heels for a little bit of glam!
